Utah Men Arrested After House Search, Face Charges For Physical Exploitation Of A Minor

About The Incident


Two Utah men are arrested and charged for the physical exploitation of a minor in their home. 40-year-old Michael Swen Bergdorf and 37-year-old Benjamin Lothar Bergdorf are now facing jail time as lewd images of a child and firearms discovered in their home during a search by the police.


Police Searched The Home Of Utah Men


The police got a tip about the Utah men that they are doing illegal things. So, the officials of the FBI Child Exploitation Task Force and the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force appeared at their home with a search warrant.


They examined the home completely and they discovered external hard drive and a thumb drive in which the men filed lewd images of a child, as per court reports. Apart from them, they also discovered many firearms and more than $20,000 in cash. Gas masks and materials also located, which they were using for making explosive materials. The court records also revealed that a suspect confessed to hacking into government and private systems to get private information.


Punishments And Charges


40-year-old Michael Swen Bergdorf and 37-year-old Benjamin Lothar Bergdorf are now in the prison and bearing eight second-degree felony counts of physical exploitation of a child. The officers also requested that the two men should not get the bail.
