However, there has been some ongoing tension in the ongoing The Last Airbender project. Apparently, creators Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko are not continuing their work on the live-action series of The Last Airbender with Netflix. While the exact reason for the discontinuation has not been cited yet, Michael Dante DiMartino has penned down a lengthy post saying that the version that will be launched onscreen will not be the one that the two writers envisioned. The reason for the sudden quit has been explained as creative differences with the streaming giant.

The two writers went on to explain that when Netflix hired them back in 2018, it was in the position of hired as executive producers and showrunners. However, it seems like things did not go exactly as planned. While he said that he can not control the creative direction of the series, he thought leaving the project behind will the best decision.

With the original team dropping out of the project, the streaming giant may include someone else into it and that might result in a change of the allover vision of the show. While the creators have expressed their disagreement over social media, it seems like the partnership is not happening with Netflix on this series. We wonder what the streaming giant’s big next step would be about the whole project. Expect a new creator being on board soon enough and continue the series of The Last Airbender.
