Maïmouna Doucouré: The Director Of The Movie Cuties Faced Death Threats

The Frecnh comedy drama movie titled Cuties will soon land on Netflix. It also the first movie of Maïmouna Doucouré as a director. The movie cast young actor Fathia Youssouf in the lead role of Amy. In France, the movie hit the theaters recently. Netflix has also purchased the rights for streaming the film worldwide. Netflix users are eagerly waiting for the French movie.


Cuties is also going through a controversy before its arrival on Netflix. Recently it is revealed that the director has received death threats. Keep reading to know everything about this incident:


Maïmouna Doucouré Received Death Threats For Cuties


Recently, the streaming giant Netflix delievered the poster for the flick, afer that people started accusing that the film is promoting pedophilia. Then many people protested online to cancel the Netflix premiere of the movie. When the film releases in France, nothing happened like this. The film has already won an award at Sundance. People are getting furious even without seeing the film.


Netflix issued an apology statement and said that they removed the poster and they are sorry for the inappropriate artwork used for Cuties. The director of the film Maïmouna Doucouré also revealed that she got death threats from the people that thought that this movie is representing children in a wrong way.


Release Date Of Cuties


Cuties first premiered at the 2020 Sundance Film Festival and it got a great response from everyone for its story and cast performances.
